Weight Loss - The Holistic Approach:
Helix Slim (Slimming tincture in tablet form)
This is a remedy made from Jerusalem Artichoke. However, it is neither an artichoke nor does it hail from Jerusalem. It is a member of the sunflower family and contains complex sugars which have a number of extremely useful properties.
In a trial carried out with Helix Slim, 47% of patients using it achieved a body mass index below the level classified as being 'overweight'.
Helix Slim
- Reduces hunger pangs, lessening the desire to snack between meals.
- Feeds the friendly bacteria in the gut, improving the way your intestines work. This means that you will be able to absorb what you eat better, and your body will be satisfied and not yearn for more food.
- Provides dietary fibre, improving the passage of wastes through the bowel. Once the bowel is moving well, bloating and abdominal discomfort decreases and energy increases.

Constipation - get rid of it!
Many people do not have regular bowel movements and waste products that should have been long gone are sitting around inside them, putrefying and fermenting. This causes bloating and literally weighs you down - you feel lethargic and less likely to use up energy.
Note too that those with a sluggish liver also tend to be constipated.
Getting rid of it
- Drink plenty of water.
- Eat foods that contain fibre.
- Move about - even if it is just a five-minute walk in the morning, it will help get the muscles moving and the muscles in the colon will respond.
- Take a teaspoon of linseed with your breakfast cereal every morning.

Light up your Liver
You may think that your stomach is the prime mover in digestion, needing only stapling to ensure your reduction to 'stick-insect' status. In fact, it is really your liver that is in charge of fat metabolism. It decides whether to use food as energy or store it as flab. Get your liver in prime condition and you will metabolise your food much more effectively. A well functioning liver will help you balance weight.
How to get your liver right
- Avoid fatty, fried foods as they put undue stress on the liver.
- Cut back on caffeine, as the liver doesn't appreciate it at all.
- Use the herb Milk Thistle as it has the ability to cleanse and tone the liver.

Flush the Fluid
Many people feel, often quite justifiably, that they are holding pounds of surplus fluid. Now you may be surprised to hear that one of the prime reasons that people retain fluid is because they are dehydrated.
Thinking about it, it makes sense: the body is afraid of the impending drought and starts to hang on to every scrap of water it can. This can also be encouraged by using large amounts of salt or drinking coffee, both of which cause fluid retention.
Reversing Fluid Retention
- Drink more water! Reassure your body that the drought has ended. 1.5 litres of water per day is the base-line for health and that is plain water, not cups of tea and coffee, or even juice or fizzy drinks.
- Ban the caffeine on the grounds that it bloats you up. Coffee is often used as a food substitute for people trying to avoid eating, but if it's causing you to retain pounds of fluid, what's the point?
- Avoid salt or look for low salt options.
- Use Dandelion tincture which helps to rebalance fluid in the body.
