Full Description:
All our joints and our pets joints contain cartilage and synovial fluid (connective tissue). Cartilage and synovial membrane are there to protect and cushion the joints allowing pain free movement. If this tissue deteriorates, movements becomes painful, joints become inflamed, stiffness sets in. Vitamin C is essential for the maintenance and rebuilding cartilage.
In healthy cartridge normal cell lose in balanced by the rebuilding of cells. If joints are prone to arthritic problems, cell loss can exceed cell rebuild leading to painful, stiff joints and so the deterioration continues. As we know Vitamin C is essential to the cell rebuilding programme, so the body just uses more Vitamin C!
FACT: most animals including cats, dogs and horses manufacture Vitamin C in their livers, so theoretically animals should never suffer from joint problems! But what if the high demand for Vitamin C exceeds the amount manufactured. Why? Who knows! Maybe its modern stresses or diet that prevents adequate manufacture of Vitamin C. Supplementation with Vitamin C may help turn this trend around.
Much anecdotal evidence suggests Vitamin C supplementation can have a profound effect on joint problems.
Why Ester C? Ester C is a non acidic form of Vitamin C, well tolerated at high doses, gentle on the stomach and less likely to cause diarrhoea. Ester C has natural metabolites which help carry the vitamin into the cell faster and more effectively than ascorbic acid (the common form of Vitamin C), thus not so much is flushed out by the kidneys.
