Sweet Itch This is an allegic skin condition provoked by bites from the Culicoides midge. Although commonly indentified, not all itches are attributable to this cause and other factors might be implicated, for example pollen allergy, or reaction to shampoos.
Arsenicum Album Can help calm the itching of a true sweet itch affect the mane and tail.
Sulphur Useful for horses that appear greasy and have a strong skin odour.
Culicoides Midge A remedy made from the midge, given to true cases of sweet itch on a daily basis can help to calm the problem.
Caladium Reputed to repel flies and also assist in their bites.
Directions & Dosage:
The suggested dose on the bottle gives a drop amount.
Small dogs and cats should be given a dose around the lower figure, large dogs should be given a dose around the higher figure. Pigeons and aviary birds, use one drop per bird in drinking water.
Because the combinations are in tincture, it is advisable to put drops into a little hot (not boiling) water and allow to cool before administrating. This allows the alcohol to evaporate off.
